Paralympian Shares His Story at THS

Picture of Brent with students

Templeton High is no stranger to guest speakers on campus.  The staff and administration believes that learning takes place not just from textbooks but also from hands on experience and the wisdom that comes from others. This week we welcomed two time Paralypian, Brent Poppin,  who earned a bronze medal in wheelchair rugby in the Greece Olympics and numerous gold medals and world titles in wheelchair rugby and tennis.  Brent was on campus this week sharing his story and reminding all of us of the importance of supporting others in their challenges, of reaching our potential and setting our goals high.

Brent has been working with THS sophomore Addy Nixon after her own struggles from a life threatening accident. Addy has been an inspiring example of the hard work and dedication it takes to overcome physical challenges and its been a highlight to have her back on campus.

Learn more about Brent's story which exemplifies overcoming obstacles and the power of persistence that can empower all of us to overcome the challenges we face.
