Special Thanks to art4children.org
Thanks to the generous support of the Art 4 Children organization sponsoring our school art program has made it the successful program it is today!
"Seeing a need for art in the Templeton Elementary Schools, Art 4 Children was formed to provide the school with funds to pay the salary of an art teacher and pay for supplies for art classes. We've consistently grown since then, all thanks to the helping hands of this amazing community!"

Our new Computer Lab instructor is Tanya Vierra! You may recognize her as a former yard duty aide. She is doing a fabulous job and loves her new position!
A Note From Our Librarian, Mrs. Jenn Kuhn
The TES Library is small but brimming with books. We now have a collection of over 8,000 books! WOW!!! All of our classes visit the library weekly. We have fun listening to stories and learning about book care, chapter books, AR readers and different Genres, and more. The Second graders will meet Mr. Dewey and learn how to locate books with the skills they will learn.
Volunteers Welcomed
We love to have volunteers to help shelve, mend ,and label books and help the students find that perfect book. Please stop by the library if you'd like to help!
Save Your Old Greeting Cards
Save your old greeting cards and send them to us. We will recycle them as bookmarks!

Our new music teacher, Stephanie Houser, is TRANSFORMING our music program!! We are so grateful to have her and are incredibly thankful that she has built a program that will allow us to have student performances again! Thank you, Mrs. Houser!
Welcome to our garden
Little Green Thumbs Garden is bursting with edible beauty thanks to many donations made in the fall. Our garden funds are plentiful and available for the many exciting plans currently in the works to continue our valuable environmental education here at TES. Please take note of the long list donors both who donated both monetary funds and material, and support their local businesses.
Our most exciting news is that we received a grant for $2000.00 from Whole Foods Market. Our Community Partner through the grant, Red Branch Nursery continuously supports our garden. They have donated high-quality organic seed starting soil, and an abundance of Fall starts that can be appreciated in our new garden courtyard between the C and D wings. This grant will bring our existing garden, as well as the “Kindergarden” a new renovation. The old wooden raised beds will be replaced with corrugated feed troughs and filled with fresh soil. Heather Kemp from Sunshine Seeds has also graciously donated funds and a plethora of seeds for sowing in our new “digs”.
We are also excited to launch art in the garden where each classroom will have the opportunity to help create Mandala Mosaics to mount on the faces of the concrete boxes. This project is still in the making, but hopefully will come together quick. We are still in the process of creating a materials list, finding volunteers to follow the project, and devising a plan for purchasing tile, grout and mesh. Resources and ideas are well welcomed.
Please contact klorz@templetonusd.org with any information to help this dream fly.
A few sweet moments of gardening at school. Here you will see students cleaning out the summer harvest, preparing our beds for our winter crop, and composting our organic waste. We even saved a few seeds. Students also enjoy keeping our classroom barrels filled with seasonal color.
