A certificated employee is a person who holds a certificate or credential which allows the holder to engage in school service.

What Is Classified?

A classified employee is a person who performs a service in which a certificate or credential is not required.

Examples include:

  • Bus Driver
  • Cafeteria Worker
  • Custodian
  • Grounds Person
  • Instructional Aide
  • Maintenance
  • Mechanic
  • Secretary
